The area where I live now is famous for peaches and for the past couple of months there’s been a lot of them available at the farmer’s markets and grocery stores. Since it’s still peach season I thought they’d be a good subject for a still life practice, though actually this was painted from a photo taken right before they were eaten.
Beautifully done. I really like how you’ve achieved the soft texture of the peach skins, and also the background colour. 🙂
Thanks ^_^
The background was built up in layers, mainly blues and black, trying out different stiff bristled and textured brushes to see what should be included in the pochade box.
Ooh, just had to Google what a pochade box is! Now I know… 😉
Beautiful. I agree with Rebecca about the skin texture. And yes, eat up! (K)
Thanks, I’m trying but there’s a lot of them in the freezer and more keep coming. 🙂
We had great peaches earlier in the summer, but not so much now…
I can almost reach out and touch the texture on those peaches. Very nice painting
Thanks, it took awhile and lots of building up layers of paint to get them like that. This is actually the third try at this painting, and it’s on the back of the second try. 🙂
They look good enough to eat.
